Amanda Bossard, fresh out from Anchorage High School 1992 began her studies in marine biology. Bossard began her career in the industry of commercial seafood in the year 1999. In that year she worked as a fisherman on Murat Aritan's 65 foot halibut vessel, transformed into a fish tender. Bossard got married to Aritan in 1999. The two have joined in fighting for their company. They support conservative, profitable management of renewable seafood resources. Otolith was established in Philadelphia through Bella Bossard who is now mother to two kids who are aged three and one Bossard. Its name is a sweet recall of her extensive understanding of fish biology and her husband's lengthy involvement with the fishing industry, frequently keeping them from each other for 5 months or longer as they work towards financial and environmental goals which are a reflection of their individuality and determination to serve their communities wherever they live. Bossard and their son Andre and Isabella, her daughter Isabella are scheduled to return back to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands in the harvest of wild salmon. For two months, Bossard, along with her daughter Isabella utilize hooks and lines to fish for the salmon they want to catch. Aritan will then sell their fish for processing locally. Amanda Bossard works as an Anchor/MMJ in News 12 Brooklyn and News 12 Bronx. She has worked at the station since November of 2015.
